GIC: from vision to deployment

To translate the personal mission of Kamran Elahian, a serial entrepreneur with 3 unicorn IPOs, venture capitalist and innovation catalyst into a business platform to democratize innovation across the world.

The Challenge

To align broad audiences, complex stakeholder ecosystems, and an ambitious global vision into a cohesive strategy that enables innovation at scale. Global Innovation Catalyst (GIC) lacked clarity, was coming across as a not for profit and wasn’t owning its vision and leadership in the space.

The Opportunity

Applying design strategy to transform complexity into clarity by defining a differentiated brand strategy, narrative, and ecosystem model that positioned GIC as a global leader in innovation acceleration.

My Role

As a creative and strategy consultant for GIC I helped Kamran and his team translate an ambitious global innovation vision into a clearer strategic direction. The work focused on defining GIC’s positioning, strengthening its narrative, developing a new brand identity from scratch and creating a variety of tactics to support alignment across a complex ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, governments, and innovation leaders.

By identifying opportunities to clarify its role in the innovation landscape, I helped shift the perception of GIC from a broad mission-driven organization into a more differentiated platform with a clear offering for its variety of stakeholders, stronger thought-leadership position, and a foundation for scalable growth.
